StrategicPoint Launches Initiative to
Help Women Investors
Program to Educate Women on their Unique Investing Challenges and Opportunities

Providence, Rhode
Island, June 30, 2009 – StrategicPoint Investment Advisors (SPIA), one of southern
New England’s leading investment advisory firms, announced today the launch of its Women's Planning Initiative (WPI) to help local women take better control of
their financial lives.
A recent study by the National Center
for Women and Retirement Research revealed that nearly 90% of women will be
solely responsible for their finances at some point in their lives. The WPI is
designed to educate and prepare women of varying financial and economic
backgrounds on the different life challenges and financial risks they face,
today and tomorrow.
The WPI features a series of on-going events hosted by SPIA,
including seminars, conference calls, industry-specific group meetings,
multi-media presentations, and other outreach. The program kicks off with a
week-long series of interviews July 6 - July 10 with successful local
businesswomen on AM790's Making Money
radio show. Led by Betsey Purinton, CFP®, SPIA will discuss what
women need to know and do now to better prepare for becoming financially
self-sufficient. Guests on the show that week will include Lt. Governor
Elizabeth Roberts and Lisa Churchville, President of WJAR-Channel 10.
“Divorce and a longer life expectancy leave many women facing the frightening
prospect of managing their finances on their own for the first time late in
life,” said Betsey Purinton, Vice President and Chief Financial Planner of
SPIA. “Our many years of experience have taught us that helping women handle
their finances is an absolute necessity, especially in the current bear market and
recession. The WPI can help even the most successful business women by sharing
our best practices designed to create better investing outcomes.”
